ROSES

ROSES

A Poem by Windy
"

A pleasant sight (in nature).

"

ROSES:

Delicate

Slight Stems

Gentle Scent

Small Buds

Slowly Blooming

ROSES:

Vibrant

Strong Strudy Stems

Sweet Aroma

Full Blooms

Petals Soft As Velvet

Open To The Sun

ROSES:

Irresistable

Reach Out

Smell, Touch

THORNS!

Droplets Of Blood

From Pricked Fingertips

And Then...

As If In Punishment

SNIP!

Short Stems

Stripped Of Thorns

Petals Falling To The Ground

Wilting

Aroma Fading

ROSES:

Once Alive And Thriving In Nature

Sadly Now Dying

ROSES NO MORE.

I like it. It kind of reminds me of Le Petit Prince:

"You're lovely, but you're empty," he went on. "One couldn't die for you. Of course an ordinary passerby would think my rose looked just like you. But my rose, all on her own, is more important than you altogether, since she's the one I've watered. Since she's the one I put under glass. Since she's the one I sheltered behind a screen. Since she's the one for whom I killed the caterpillars (except for two or three for butterflies). Since she the one I listened to when she complained, or when she boasted, or even sometimes when she said nothing at all. Since she's my rose."

You certainly captured the life of a rose... it can certainly have many meaning of coarse such as the roses representing love... either way fantastic write.

I think this poem means different things to different people..
To me personally..it represented a time in my life that has come to a dramatic end.
This poem brought tears to my eyes..very meaningful.

This is great, I like it, the great thing about writing, is that it can mean different things to different people.
To me, it means that with beauty, there is also ugliness(However you may define it) With every good thing, there is bad. I like your style Windy!

No, it's perfect. Almost the very stages of life humans experience. I think you said what you meant and it came across.

"See a rose is still a rose
Baby, girl, you're still a flower
He can't lead you and then take you
Make you and then break you
Darlin', you hold the power"

One of my favorite songs (Aretha Franklin).

This is very nice...
I really like its free flow quality!

Very nice work my friend! Again,
I enjoyed this. Thank you!

I take it you are a rose lover? You've described the life cycle of the rose so perfectly. Just dead headed mine this evening. They are beautiful but take so much care. Don't have any suggestions. Well done, Windy.

Lovely, wonderful! This is so delicately put and the form is absolutely perfect. You truly have created a gem here, congratulations. Did you enjoy writing like this?

As to the content, yes, sad, but, better a brief beauty than none at all.

This is going into my library...

Sweet Aroma
Full Blooms
Petals Soft As Velvet
Open To The Sun

That is lovely, absolutel lovely... can see the roses, can almost smell them

Thank you for sharing.

I think it is fine just the way it is. Kind of reminded me of life from beginning to end. I wouldn't change a thing about it...it spoke to me...sure it will to others as well.

Perhaps you can explain more in depth the causes as to why the rose is dying. You did a good job in explaining the physical limitations to a rose that cause it to die. But perhaps if you look explain more in depth why? Mabe it will improve your writing a bit.

And so it is with roses...but, like the old saying, A rose by any other name would smell as sweet...

Great write. Nice imagery.
