A Letter To Heaven

Still dealing with the death of my beloved dog, and this came to me while praying

Dear Heaven,

Have you seen my dog?

She passed away a few days ago

And I am sure she is headed your way.

She is a beautiful black and white

Husky Mix

She has one blue and one brown eye.

She has a heart of gold

And loves to play in the snow.

Do you have snow up there?

She might be looking for

Our grandma and grandpa

Who are there with you.

They always gave her treats

And took her on long walks.

I’m sure she’d love to fly with your angels.

If you see her

Can you tell her we really, really miss her

So much here at home?

Please rub her ears

And give her a kiss on the nose,

She likes that.

I love the simple elegant lines from a child's perspective. I can see the beautiful dog playing in the snow with a huge grin on her face. I feel like I am in the poem throughout. I am so sorry for your dog's passing. I sincerely hope we will all be able to see our loved ones again someday.
