Birthday Wishes

A Poem by Amy Whetzell
"

A poem I wrote for my aunt, the sweetest lady you could ever hope to meet.

"

These temples are not perfect, though many believe its true

But truest of beauty lies within me and you

Another day young is upon you today

Keep that low self-esteem far away

More beautiful than you were yesterday, Not as cute as you'll be tomorrow

Savor each moment, and let go of your sorrow

I see you as closest to perfection because of the warmth in your smile

Your hugs bring hope that stretches far past a mile

I know what it is to be down and to weep

But today be happy, and your strength will keep

Young or old, fat or thin

The truest and purest beauty lies within

These may be temples we decorate as we please

but inside is the power of God helping us to reach our destinies

On the day you were born, God patted his own shoulder and said "Job very well done!"

Keep your chin up high, for the best is yet to come!!
