(I wrote this some time ago, and just found it again. I like it; its how I really speak inside my head. Enjoy)

How I wish to swathe you

and keep all harm away

How I regret that you witnessed

the invective words he displayed

I pray that as you grow

my wistful ways will never cause you to slow

You'll go only as far as you allow

please never allow another to push you down low

 

 

 

I've made many a miscalculation

causing moisture to fall from my eyes

See the good in others every chance you get

Some don't know it, but we all have a light

The eyes are the windows to the soul

I've closed my curtains, but you mustn't do it too

Children are our future

My reason to live another day, I love you Jonny & Matthew!
