Just A KissA Poem by Amy WhetzellThe most intimate part, in my opinionI don't know, something about it. After all, it's just a kiss, right? Oh, no, it's so much more. A kiss is the most intimate affection, on every level. A kiss is simple but complex, short and sweet but enduring. Here's what I know:
In a kiss you feel the passion, or lack thereof. You feel how much this person feels for you, or doesn't. The world fades around you; time stands still. And in that instant he sees what you fear to reveal. You hide so well what you crave, your supposed need. It's not the taste, and it's not the technique; it is how everything around falls away. You feel the souls intertwine, and just how much desire hides within.
You never know why it comes out then, why your secret needs appear then. Complexity of emotions comes out with the simplest form of affection. But it can't hide forever; it'll show itself when your guard goes down. In the time it takes you to taste him, to feel his heart pound, he sees you inside out, your passion burning wildly. When you kiss him, he'll know how much you want him, how long you've yearned for his touch, how badly you want it not to end.
Paranoia envelops me, because after all, it's just a kiss, right? © 2008 Amy WhetzellReviews
