Happy 1st Birthday

I wrote this when my oldest boy, Matthew turned a year old. To this day, he still loves to hear it.

I've searched real hard

to find a card

to say what I wanted to say

 

So I hope in these lines

of words and rhymes

I am able to find a way.

 

Birthdays are here

but once a year

Sometimes we're left untold

 

But don't look at the past

of things that don't last

Because today you are 1 year old

 

I'm almost done

Sure hope you have fun

I'm so proud of you

 

You won't be getting your way

But its still your day today
