Winds of Change

Winds of Change

A Poem by Windsong
"

Just something to show how friends leave footprints on our hearts.

"
This is for all those friends in my life who've helped me grow as a person...for better or worse, I wouldn't be the same without them.

Time changes things

Though for better or worse

That I cannot say

I think of my life and how I've grown

Of words and cliches

Things we repeatedly do.

You seem the same inside

Of course, you're still you.

But through an older mask you hide

And so I try, as hard as I do

To be me

As I am to you.

Behind no mask can I hide

Because you see right through

You know I've changed

And that some is because of you.

Though of change I am afraid

I thank thee I have you

You're the wings that carry me

And make my windsong true.

So yes, I have learned

That change is needed to grow

And that if you'd never stamped my soul

I don't know what my life would hold.

Strange how people touch our lives, and sometimes in ways we may never be aware of. This was quite lovely, liked it a lot.
