Eat or Be Eaten

Eat or Be Eaten

A Story by WindSinger

have come to realize that the realities in which we create are a delicate thing, much like the web of life where a single action can change the whole course of an ecosystem a small change in circumstance or attitude can change the course of a situation in a heart beat.  The things that you work hard for can be very easily stripped from you.  Your job, the place you live, money...all those material things that help make life easier but can also produce alot of stress.  Many people I know are struggling and to say that times are not hard word be a complete denial of the economic reality we are in.  It seems that this fragile reality doesn't have any one thing that is consistant, where you can feel stable.  But what is stability?  Is stability the illusion that most people give themselves when they feel as though things are "set"?  Well what happens when there is a tare or a ripple in this "set" image of reality, it changes the way you view this world.  It also changes you....stability is an illusion we feed ourselves to make us feel more civilized.  However, even though we may live in a "civilized" society much the methods we have to live by are archiac.  We literally live in a world where it is eat or be eaten.  If you don't learn how to eat you will be eaten.  Eaten?  Eaten by what?!!  By the monsters and false gods we have created as a society.... money, power, greed, and all those other poisonous things that corrupt who we as human beings are.  These false idols are what the bible wrote about in ancient times...it wasn't necessarily the false gods it was the seductive and poisonous mentality and lifestyle behind it.  I am by far not a christian HOWEVER I can understand the idea of evil being like a snake.  Full of mystery and power....but can be so deadly and destructive.  We as a race were not created to destroy each other, maybe some of our race was.  But certainly I was not.  This eat or be eaten world is a scary and cruel place if we are alone, where the survival of the fittest can be the worst kind of mind set a person could live by.  And yet that's how we are living.  Many live in the mind set of where they take care of their own and that's it.  However my view is, is if you have a good heart and are sensible enough to stand up to this non-sense that has been happening for the last thousands of years then we're in the same boat, so let's make the most of this.  Many of us are fighting the same battles just in different forms.  My point is that there are certain things that we need to make this life run better, and they are strong relationships with family and friends.  But more importantly a strong connection to the Divine,  when this connection is strengthens and helps us move forward in this life.  So when a monster comes knocking and wants to eat you and your family....what are you going to do?  Eat or be eaten?
