Ice

Ice

A Chapter by Peregrinator7

Based on a... actually, most of my work is based on a true story...

"
One day
I was reading
And I got thirsty.
So these modern times
I go to the fridge to get water.

I push back the flap-thingy
(If you know what I mean)
Because it is hot.

And ice comes exploding out
Like a rabid bear is chasing it
Half of it misses my forlorn glass
And tumbles to the floor,
Shattering into a million pieces.

I look on in awe of the
Horrible quality of our fridge.
And I think: what a slippery slope it is
The line between
What's meant to last
And what makes money.

I fill up my glass
And halfheartedly clean up the floor
The melting dreams of freedom melting in my palm
Thinking that the idiot ice
Decided to fall to its death
Than bless me and jump into the glass.

In the first stanza, change So these modern times to In these modern times
Change the last three lines to

Thinking that the idiot ice
Had chosen to fall to its death
Instead of blessing me and jumping into the glass

Otherwise, nice!
