Thoughts throughout the night

The stars are out again tonight
And oh god do they shine bright.
Look there's one there and another one over there
I wonder if they mean anything
Or if they've got stories to why there there.

I look at them in the darkness of the night
And think about life.
I don't know why but they make me think about what I've done and not
They make me cry
As I feel joy
But also regret for what I haven't done

The stars, the moon
They bring a beauty to my soul
And memories to my head
A few times they've made me want to be dead
But then remind me I have a life to live

So here I am
Looking again
This shall never change
For the stars bring me a release from my head

The night sky seems to bring out a new part of the human race perhaps we appreciate because of our sentience but I think we are sentient because we stared at the stars. These thoughts I think because of your poem thank you for a new edition to a long book.
