Battle Hype (Defense)

Battle Hype (Defense)

A Poem by Bill O. Writes
"

Football translated to ancient war.

"
Men! Hold your positions!
Let not the enemy tread upon our territory.
They carry the stone!
Only that stone can raze our castle should they get there.
But that's where we come in...
Our numbers are even so fight until your legs collapse beneath you.
Fight until you crumble! We shall not be bested!
Not on our home grounds.
They are known to try to sneak the stone through enemy lines
But be watchful for the aerial assault as they do not fear putting the stone at risk.
They are but 100 yards from victory.
Should we thwart the invasion, we may then brandish our blades and carry the stone to their land.
May the Gods be with us all. This is our home.
Defend its honor!

I am a girl who sucks at sports and played or watched even less unless I have a beautiful company who pump me up about it. Though I don't know what i'm pumped about.
Crazy good poem. Broken bones mend but victories stay there gleaming.
It's definetly a war when you once step into the stadium.

Thanks Sindu. And you're right. Love the analogy of victories and broken bones

Thanks! I'll check that out when I get some time!
Good poem. Not a favorite subject. I love Soccer and basketball. I played baseball and golf. I can even enjoy a game of tennis. But, football and it's brutal objectives, just don't interest me. I think it lacks the finesse and beauty the other games exhibit.

Football doesn't make any sense, there's no reason for the brutality and no end result and for this they get paid the big bucks!...You guys are all testosterone crazed! Where's the honor is plowing one another. ;) Sorry, sore spot, I have three sons they all played, we ended up in the ER more times than I care to remember, stitches, broken bones, yeah manly stuff...Oh, good poem by the way. :)
