Phantom (AKA Lover's Asylum)

Phantom (AKA Lover's Asylum)

A Poem by ~Lily~
"

Inspired by the "Poet's Asylum" group. I wanted to write something insane and a bit disturbed.

"

You visit me in visions
Troubling, frenzied apparitions.
Your ghost, your shadow,
Your ashen silhouette lurks upon these barren walls.
Ha! You amuse me
Though I know not why I laugh.
For you torment me
As I spiral downward into a cascade of madness.
You destroy me
Yet I know not why I hurt
For I am dead.
You have already killed me
Yet I spend eternity with your eyes
Your fiery passion,
Your irresistible hell.
Prisoner to your lust,
I’ve become masochistic
For your pain revives me.
You are an illusion
Yet so valid and pungent.
I cannot sleep
For your phantom wanders through these asylum halls,
Stirring all madmen from their graves.
I cannot think
For I hear you tapping, tapping at my window.
I cannot breathe
For you take my breath away.
I wear this amethyst
As tribute to your beauty
And these tattered skirts
As tributes to your pain.
But I must leave you
And never come back.
I pray that you may do the same.
Farewell, my love,
Farewell my ache,
Farewell, my life,
Farewell, my apparition.

About
I don't really confine myself to a specific genre; I write when I am inspired, though I will always have a soft spot in my heart for satire. I hope to get some things up here soon, but I first need t.. more..
