The Lonely Rose

The Lonely Rose

A Poem by ~Lily~
"

Just something I wrote one day when I was feeling meditative, yet simultaneously bored.

"

A lone rose

Sits in a vase

Soft and sweet

Yet wilting

As if fatigued

From the arduous journey

From ground to vase.

For there is not enough water

For her weary stem

And not enough sunlight

For her worn petals.

Yet she complains not-

As the sun sets

Beyond the horizon.

For perhaps there is some hope-

Some explanation

For all this toil.

As she sips water

From this battered vase

She meditates

And starts to dream.

I don't really confine myself to a specific genre; I write when I am inspired, though I will always have a soft spot in my heart for satire. I hope to get some things up here soon, but I first need t.. more..
