The girl with the bluebonnet heart

The girl with the bluebonnet heart

A Poem by willweb

~

She laughed at the sun,
its light was amusing
Chased away clouds
with her Saturday grin

Frolicked about,
midst the wildflowers playing
Whispered a tune,
hoping spring would join in

Counted the stems
of the daffodils yawning
Planted a dream
as the seedlings now slept

Tinted a rosebush
in marmalade colors
Opened the gate
where aromas were kept

Tickled a leaf
while a crepe myrtle giggled
Waved to the twilight,
as day did depart

Promised to bloom
now that winter had faded
She was the girl
with the bluebonnet heart

The Bluebonnet is the state flower of Texas and while walking in my pasture this weekend, I could see they were all about to bloom. Over the next few weeks, the landscape of South Texas will be awash in colorful wildflowers and leading the way will be the Bluebonnet. It will be an amazing sight to see
