The Edge

The Edge

A Poem by willweb

She skipped along the edge of the lake,
her refection dancing upon it's clear smooth surface,

soft hair flowing
in the cool November breeze...

singing a melodic autumn song
while happily tossing flower petals
into the water...

and as I watch from the thicket
at the edge of the woods,
I am mesmerized by her charm

when it occurs to me...

I have never seen the lake
look more beautiful

Her reflection on the water making the lake more beautiful... I adore the sentiment, just sweet and romantic writing here. I enjoyed.

Thanks my friend. Her reflection in anything would make it more beautiful.
A lovely tribute to both subject and season.

Admiring a transitory beauty cross the stage, the poet falls in love with nature's stage.

A strong psychological effect portrayed in poetry. The beauty of one thing becomes associated with another proximate to it. So well said Will in your typical poetic way.

Thanks so much Soren for always inspiring me to do more.
Nothing like a beautiful reflection in the lake, not the ordinary trees surrounding, but a lovely girl skimming on the side gently throwing petal in to the lake.. why wouldn't this reflection be eye catching??? lovely words and images as always Will; thank you for sharing this fine piece.

I feel the lake becomes extra special as it holds the face of the 'she'. It is beautiful! ❤

Thank you so very much Mou. It certainly does become much more special.
You really are one of the prize romantic poets in here, willweb!

'humming a melodic springtime tune
while happily tossing flower petals
into the water . . .'

Such a painting in letters swept across your reviewers' eyes - super sweet, sir.

Thank you so much my sweet friend. I appreciate your kindness always.
Love the twist at the end...her charm...the lake's rather than the woman.
perhaps they are both "she's"----both ladies to love.
