A beautiful take on a lost soul, alone on the woods ( with great visuals) then to find her lover in a dream,.. as they fly away together to a better place...I love the rhyme and all the soft words that neatly fit into a puzzle; images of color and texture that are stunning!
Warmly,

I just write what I find floating about in my unkempt and cluttered mind. Appreciate it my friend. Though, you are not bad in your own poetic right (write). I have read some deeply touching and emotional pieces from your pen and the accompanying music is always way too cool.
as always, I am mesmerized by your descriptions...
This piece is no diferent...and the third stanza with its "rose petal sadness/ in goldenrod grief..."
the alliteration makes the tear fall harder...this poem takes me back to William Carlos Williams and his "widow's lament in springtime"---
the warmth and beauty even as the tears fall...

Thanks for your nice comments. I am thrilled you enjoyed this.
A wonderful poem Will. I have always love the gals who walked barefoot. Nothing as wonderful as a country girl who hate shoes and she loved laughter. Thank you my friend for sharing the outstanding poetry.
