Lost in the wishes

Daydreams and daffodils dance in the twilight,

woven in sunsets of amber and gold

Soft like a whisper, the evening sky calling,

echoes adrift as the longings unfold

 

Pastels now gather ‘pon ribbons of satin

‘bove the horizon, a tangerine tone

Singing, the breeze as it wafts through the meadow,

hearing its song as I stand here alone

 

Peering the distance o’er hill shadowed valleys,

wandering thoughts within questions arise

Visions now found at the edge of a moonbeam,

held neath the clouds of these cool autumn skies

 

Now as you sleep under candle flame flicker,

slumber at last brings its silence to share

Slowly, I stroll down this path of desire,

lost in the wishes and hopes I were there

Not a sleep dreamer but often prone to a daydream. Or maybe that is just moments of meditating on deep thoughts. Recklessly chasing dreams can only lead to disappointment a majority of the time. Again, your rhyming verse style suits the airy quality of your chosen theme. Dreams, well described.

Daydreams are my favorite things to do. This poem just set me off as if I was standing there with you " woven in sunsets of amber and gold".....longing for love, perhaps? "echoes adrift as the longings unfold"...
alone in the meadow....hearing songs..."neath cool autumn skies".....this is so soft and romantic ....Slowly I stroll down this path of desire"....wow!
