Jimmy Buffet, an American singer-songwriter, author, poet and businessman passed away on September1st after a battle with cancer. He was a big part of my life and will be missed dearly.
This is a poem I wrote a few years back inspired by his lust for life and happiness. I hope you enjoy it.

Absolutely agree!
For me, the only place on earth (that I know of thus far) where I am able to completely relax is the beach.
Invigorating advise.
Love it!
spent many a day on the waters of the world and beaches from fiji to australia to boca chica and of course hatteras
so add some changes in latitudes changes in attitudes add a couple cheeseburgers
kick off the flops and just be
I've had an earworm wigglin' these last few days since ...
Some people claim there's a woman to blame
but I know, its my own damn fault!
Maybe one of the most relatable lines in music. That's cool that you had written this long ago. Let's all have a cheeseburger with a side of paradise!

I can appreciate this tribute to Jimmy Buffet. Perhaps not as much a someone who can go to relax upon those beaches but enough to know he knew what he was talking about. A fantastic tribute to a fine musician and man.
Yes, Jimmy knew what he was talking about. I live in South Florida so I go to the beach when I need to clear my head and just relax. Often, inspiration hits while I listen to the gulls and to the waves crashing on the shoreline. Such a lovely tribute to Jimmy Buffet, Will. Lydi**

Thanks so much Lydi. He was a big part of my life and the loss is hard to bear
I wonder if Jimmy is somewhere ordering a Cheeseburger in Paradise. Wherever he is I hope his sails are full, his skies are blue and his seas are calm. Carry on Captain, have a mango margarita on me.

I guess he is located at a different latitude now. Thanks Fabian.
When such an accomplished and would-be best buddy sings his final note, seems life has stopped foot.tapping a while. Blessed the memories that have you remembering, maybe humming a song, sir, My bro was a fan, must search his stash in my attic! Your poem is more than a tribute, willweb.
' Just find your spot - along the shore - when life - has got you down .. (and maybe a margarita or two)

Thank you my friend. There is something very comforting about the rhythm of the waves.

And yes, their rhythm were both uplifting and comforting.
Jimmy Buffett is the kind of music that is just fun to listen to.
They do say that the cure for anything is salt water,
whether it be the Ocean, sweat, or tears, personally, I find a lot of truth in that.
I had no idea he passed away.
