Of her once again

Of her once again

A Poem by willweb

~

She stands with her thoughts

on a bridge o’er the garden,

now spanning the fragrance

of yesterday’s rose

Her skirt springtime white,

with a robin’s egg ribbon,

‘pon barefoot adventures

wherever she goes

A landscape of green

‘long desires alluring

of dinners for two

with a candlelit theme

A petal to pull,

hope it says that he loves her,

while golden hair flows

midst this magical scene

Above, crystal clear,

when a dandelion beckons,

a soft gentle breeze

lets it float on its way

She stands all alone

while the garden is thinking

of her once again

on this warm summer day

You could be right. Thank Jacob
That petal game, she loves me. She loves me not was much easier with dandelions... She loves me, whoosh! I won every time, at least until I blew it in her face... The dandelion I mean! 😊

Yeah, that might irritate someone and after that, no petals needed to find your answer.
She stands all alone. Perhaps that is the truth of this magical scene. Perhaps the romantic scenes exist only in her mind. Sometimes the lonely are given to fantasy.
PS: In the last line of verse 5, I think you can drop that apostrophe.

Thanks so much John. I have made that correction; I appreciate your time.
Lovely. The idea of a thinking garden is like embracing the soul of the garden.

Nicely wrought. I like the personification of the garden. A "thinking" garden...I know a few folks who might benefit from resting there a spell. (smile) But the sweet natural fragrance drifting from this write is enough to stir some lovely visions in the mind. My baby girl grew her first flower this year, a sunflower. She planted it from birdseed. I told her it probably wouldn't grow. I was SO wrong. It produced at least a dozen flowers and I took photos of it for posterity. Life and love always find a way. I enjoyed the read. F.
