Undressing nature

Undressing nature

A Poem by willweb

Undressing nature

~

Lovely pink roses on a stone wall

like buttons on a cotton dress,

climbing to the top,

opening when the light finds

spring breeze interludes frolicking beyond the

painted iron gate

Swinging hinges sing the melody of love

as delicate thorns pull at cloth canopies

of translucent chiffon and soft lace hue,

releasing vine clung threads,

knotted of perfume, watching as buttons

free fall to the lawn, like so many petals

To capture sensuality so perfectly without descending into lasciviousness, is an art, and one you clearly possess.

An apt title to what I consider is a very lovely poem.

Beccy.

That they are. : ) Thanks for stopping by.
I love button roses and the poem is so reminiscent of their miniature yet perfect beauty. Loved the picture of the painted iron gate and swinging, singing hinges. A very imaginative poem, so replete with emotion. I could feel the scented breeze.

Thanks so very much my friend.
Your poetry is so romantic, Will. Pink roses as buttons....that simile is super! You embrace nature while spicing this up with desire. I liked it. Lydi**

Thanks so much Lydi. It means a lot coming from you.
Nice mixture of the natural with the erotic here. With all those buttons falling and canopies being pulled, I was hoping a few nymphs would appear. No such luck. Guess I'll have to google one of the porn sites.

Hey, let me know if you find any good ones.
A most beautiful image. A great metaphor. The symbolism of love built on a formidable obstacle casts images of a love difficult to win and well protected which is so well balanced with the last two lines in the first stanza of a spring breeze frolicking. I love the introduction of sound in the second stanza with the hinges singing the melody of love. The adding of scent with the perfume is great. Now you have involved at least three of my senses and I am in love with the scene.

I love the comparison between petals and buttons, they both will eventually fall of.... you poem speak of the magnificent of nature, watching creeping vines over iron gates, light reflecting off rose petals; thorns that pull ,making delicate threads; the fragrance that permeates the summer air....this is so lovely, flowing so perfectly, as always Will
