On the edge of humankindA Poem by willweb~ A long and
lonely walker on the edge
of humankind Was
understood to locate anything
that he could find A mountain
or a river, near the
shore or in the sky If It was
there, he took it, there’s no
need to ask him why A whisper in
the corner where the truth
now comes to hide They wished
they’d said much louder to someone
they could confide A promise in
the making where a falsehood
would suffice Believing some
believe it if you make
the promise twice An honest
politician, oh no, wait,
that is a scam He took your
vote, he took your cash and now he’s
on the lam A broken-hearted
letter, ripped in
half and left behind It started, “I
am sorry,” but the rest
was not so kind See, some
things are for taking, were the
words that he would spout And if no
one could hear him then this
lonely man would shout For it was
of importance that his
name would always be Associated
with the things he found out
there for free So if you
see him strolling with his
eyes cast all around It’s so he
misses nothing as the land he does abound You never
know what you will see, the items
you might find When you are
out there walking on the edge
of humankind ~ © 2023 willwebAuthor's Note
