measuring moments to spare

Dangling truth in the seams of confusion,

camouflaged, nothing to wear

 

Fastened by Velcro in heart strings of passion,

sewn with a lingering thread

Patterns on paper with words now in fashion,

running the walkway instead

 

Fabrics are woven of promised affection,

altering hemlines anew

Polishing buttons to claim your reflection,

love it looks so good on you

A near genius of words, this poem. If I ever need a tailor, will book a flight - need find my passport first. Your meter throughout sings, the metaphors are first class.. apart from that.. it measures up to perfection. Took me a few seconds to come up with that! Great stuff, willweb.

Comfort has finally replaced fashion for me. I even bought a pair of sketchers yesterday. The ones you just slip your feet into despite them having laces. I call them my new feet pillows now and I've tried asking if they make them in an adult babygro size, but keep getting faces contorting into dali-esque melted clocks in reply.
In case you haven't guessed, it's too warm for my penguin onesie. Plus, people look at me weird when I go shopping in it... Well, weirder anyway 😊

I have a pair of those two. They are pretty nice. I moved to comfort years ago and have been thanking myself ever since. Though...penguin onesies still haven't made it on my list, maybe someday. : ) Thanks my friend.

Me too kind of. Bell Bottoms, denim jackets covered in patches of some kind or the other and Nehru Jackets. Remember those? I went to the Beatles Cirgue de Solei show in Vegas a few years ago and looked for a Nehru jacket to wear and couldn't find one anywhere. That was disappointing.

I went on a journey with this one will. Back many years to when I would make all my own clothes with those paper patterns and stay up half the night with the sewing machine. All to make sure I didn’t turn up wearing the same dress as someone else!
