A day filled with rain

A day filled with rain

A Poem by willweb

"""

Watching the rain through a window of sorrow,

counting the drops as they drip down the pane

Seeing today, wishing it were tomorrow,

yesterday’s sun needs to come back again

Cleaning the streaks of my sad teardrops falling,

there on a sill that is locked from inside

Listening close to the echoes now calling,

seeking a shadow, a place I can hide

Down on my knees hoping wishes are favored,

shouting above to a ceiling of white

Searching the past for those moments I savored,

till every day turned into every night

Facing the loss, brings a meaning to crying,

something to last, always leaving a stain

Emptiness finds there is no use denying,

all I have left is a day filled with rain

This is beautiful. If I could write like this every day in honesty and acknowledgement of my surroundings, I would consider myself blessed. THANK YOU for the inspiration.

Thank you very much, you are a kind person and a good friend, I'm sure!
Hopefully writing about it shed some sunlight and brought you up off your knees. The cycle of depression has no respect for the clock. Turns day into night pushing dark into the light that could be a new day. What was the count on those raindrops? More or less than the teardrops? Too bad dreamdrops can't help, they're just too strange.

i like this a lot. well, at least you do windows. i was there peering through that window. powerfully deep. streaks of emotion throughout. rainy days were made for stopping and reflecting. pass the windex for a streak-free shine ... :)

You are so very welcome, friend.
Those rainy days always seem to bring us down. They are great motivation though. The sun always shines again, just like you.

Thank you Linda. Aw, what a nice thing to say.
We have had rain too will. You set a gloomy mood here with this write my friend. When you are feeling sad, watching rainfall can just reinforce the sorrow. Your stanzas have great rhythm. Liked the imagery too.
