Some words

Some words

A Poem by willweb

Some words push

and some words sway

Some words leave

and some words stay

Some words calm

and some words soothe

Some words swear

and some words prove

Some words smile

and some words sneer

Some words hurt

and some words cheer

Some words stop

and some words flow

Some words tell

and some words show

Some words whine

and some words scream

Some words pout

and some words dream

Some words heal

and some words ache

Some words give

and some words take

Some words praise

and some words shame

Some words rave

and some words blame

Some words love

and some words hate

Some words help

and some words rate

Some words sing

and some words cry

Some words lift

and some words sigh

Some words rhyme

as you can see

But,

all words work

in poetry

Words are very talented, aren't they? Used wisely they can describe everything the eye can see and the soul can feel. This is a most clever write with a little Dr. Seuss quality about it in form and composition that suits the theme perfectly. A briskly enjoyable read.

Excellent end! Your words on words word the truth of words. Where would words be without words to back them up? This was both fun and serious. I really enjoyed it!

They are a wonderful tool
Seem to work much better than oinks and grunts

This was FABULOUS! I LOVE it! It's simple but profound! It bounces right along like a red rubber ball in one of those songs they used to put up the lyrics to so you could sing along. Highest marks I can give both in praise and rating. I read poetry all the time. I have books and books of everything from Burns to Browning and Donne to Dickinson but this, this was fun. ;)

Kitten's mitten...I'll take that. : )
I like it! A compendium of word age and the emotions they do and can bring to us all.
Whiny words spoken are like nails on a chalkboard, but other words can be all of what you say.
I am thinking of my favourite words and can't get over how self describing they are, like squeezy and squiggly. Squiggly even becomes wiggly in your mouth and that squ sound can't help but make your mouth smile too.
I think we should all say squeezy when getting pictures taken.
Who made cheers the smile boss? 😊

And that they do! The only thing that caught me off guard was the repetition of line 1, first stanza and line 1, Stanza 6. I also like how you emphasized your ending stanza by breaking up the form. Well done.
