I wish I could play the guitar Will.
"And yesterday dreams
sit caught in the feedback
of out of tune longings
in sad harmony"
the above lines. So good and you made the reader feel the lost, the sadness. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

Thank you again my friend for your kind review of my work.
. . .And there it is - you're a musician/songwriter as well -This is so well written such a creative way to express a sombre state. I listen when my husband plays his guitar/s and don't need to be a professor to know where his head is at. If you're going to feel sombre, what better way to express it than in music.
Husband has written music to most of my earlier writing - (Imagining' is one) we're going to produce the ' Patience' album, someday he says. . . someday hey . . hahaha who cares if it never happens, when he puts music to my words, they don't seem so awkward - many a tear has welled up in these eyes, . . . (sorry got carried away )- love your work Will

Poetry has had me writing music before as well. Some pieces just cause one to do that. Thanks so much for reading and feel free to get carried away anytime you like here, : )
Nice little twist at the end. Great references to musical notation makes great poetic notions. Your guitar gently weeped and the tears wrote lyrics I hope she heard. Gotta wax those strings if your going to cry on your strings.
I play the guitar too sometimes. (Not an expert) So I do well connect with the feelings you mention here. Well done.

I appreciate your time. Keep playing that guitar because, music really is what makes the world go round. And once you learn guitar...you will always have a friend you can count on.
such song this sings of love
the love of a thing that is alive in all ... music
we march to our own drummer and subconsciously sing our song
your song is dedicated to the instrument of choice ... your 6 string key
this is damn near too well written as you gave clear direction thru word choice
'hell yeah!' said the bull riding cowgirl 'i hear your song cowboy!'

the 1st 33 1/3 LP i bought was 'walk don't run '64' by the Ventures and many thousands upon thousands of vinyl albums later my need and want for and of music is stronger than ever!
i seriously try to listen to some music everyday ... sometimes ALL day!
and yes, there is some music snobbery going on here. fact is the relationship between music and LP on turntable is akin to a Japanese tea ceremony.
never counted how many songs total but i would be ok with 100k +
i'm such an audiophile geek i have an 8 trac collection and working player and a still working crystal head cassette player with another 1000 or so cassettes
all married with sansui 3000 amp, technic mk-1200 direct drive turntable, 2 sets of original bose 501 floor model speakers
I LIKE MY MUSIC!
to make it easier for me to listen when i am in the studio or workshop i created 100 mix playlists of 60-80 songs each ... that works out to music 8 hrs per day monday - saturday 50 weeks of the year never hearing songs more than once!
that equals 92G of hard drive space
art paid for much of my music
but it is music that gave my art a beat of it's own
"While my Guitar Gently Weeps."......
One of my favorite songs of all time.
This write reminds me so much of this song.
George Harrison is my favorite Beatle,
and in my opinion, not highly vauled enough.
Great work, really great stuff.

Thank you L&A. I too am a fan of the Beatles and that song.
I play my guitar daily or try to. I have to keep my fingertip callouses in shape. If no sound came out I'd be sadder over that than losing some female...any female. My guitar has been with me longer than any woman, after all. I have three but my favorite I've had many years and it's the one I play most often. I enjoyed the read.

I love this metaphor using the guitar music and strings to portray your mood swings, seemingly downward; My son plays the guitar and when we're together he plays pop songs and I sing!!! But this piece shows your mood in despair; so much so that you no longer hear the tones.... A very despondent piece and truly excellent!
