Dead end days

I followed the road map I found

inside of my broken heart

and drove to the edge of yesterday

 

Got out of my car and looked

over the side

 

There at the bottom of this very deep ravine

I could see today,

 

so I jumped…

 

there will be no tomorrow

I did leave it in a no jumping zone so I am sure it has been towed off by now, but you wouldn't have wanted it anyway. The ABS system was shot, the left bedside panel needed to be replaced, the a/c only knows what lukewarm is and the driver's door window goes down but takes a few hours to come back up again.

I feel today is all, we live and die in today. There is no tomorrow. This is a deep poem and I can relate to it in so many ways. The past has died and today alone lives!

Unless you fall through the folded today and no wait! It depends what way its folded and you might end up coming out at the bit with all the little contour keys and signage. I'd really like to come out at the bit my giant man hand is holding and bounce tight back into today. But what do I know? I don't even know how to fold a map with tomorrow side down on it. And how would I know it would be my hand that's holding it?
I think I'll lie down now and see if there's a tomorrow 😊
