Echoes of dreams

Echoes of dreams

A Poem by willweb

~*~

She stood at the window

and looked to the sky

Counted each star

that she saw passing by

Waved to a comet

it’s brilliant light

Glowing like fire

this cold winter night

Sang with the breeze

that was chilly a’ flow

Shivered a bit from

her head to her toe

Remembered a wish

sent the heavens above

Seeking the dreams that

her hearts thinking of

Bid a farewell to

the night she did face

Heard a soft echo

just barely a trace

Comforting words that

were long overdue

Telling her truly her

wish would come true

Upon her pillow

she rested her head

Taking the thoughts

that the echo had said

Closing her eyes,

let her mind drift away

Finding her dream

on this beautiful day

Her and a friend

as they walk down the street

Cobblestone mysteries

under her feet

Blue birds and butterflies

floating the air

A warm summer wind

as it tickled her hair

Yellow balloons and

a bottle of wine

Wearing a smile in

three quarter time

Sharing a meal

of the lightest affair

Loving these moments

with him she did share

Hearing his voice

as she opens her eyes

Seeing the sun

brightly starting to rise

Knowing so well

in the warmth of its beam

The echo was right…

for she had found her dream

These types of times do seem like dreams. A wonderful flow to this poem.

Ok. : )
I like the transition of being awake with her thoughts to falling asleep and finding her dream. The cadence is like a waltz, and you danced seamlessly from beginning to end. Well done.
