Stupid thoughtsA Poem by willwebI was bored~^~ Here
on the heels of a leather
shoe binding, traveling
roads to the east Seeking
a dream that I’m forever
finding, nothing
much more than the least Hitchhiking
shoulders, my
thumb far extended, precious
these moments I see Still
in my heart is the
love she pretended, hung
around waiting for me Maple
tree songs, sweet the
lyrics now flowing, sticky
in three-quarter time A
bounce in my step with my
world brightly glowing, lost
in these verses of rhyme Still
here I go down this
path long and winding, beneath
these blue skies above Fingers
now crossed with
my footsteps reminding, hoping
the end finds her love So
call me dumb its a
long way to travel, just
on a hunch and a prayer I’m
all mixed up now my
mind does unravel, though
I can’t help going there What
if she slams every
door I am knocking, leaving
me there all alone Then
I’ll just turn on my
heels and get rocking, walking
the highway back home Funny
how love keeps our
gears steady turning, no
matter how hard we fight Somehow
you’d think there’d
be lessons for learning, whether
its wrong or its right Poets
are strange, though I
don’t mean demented, no
need to say this again For
you can see in these
stanzas presented, stupid
thoughts flow from my pen © 2023 willwebReviews
