Every grain of sand

Every grain of sand

A Poem by willweb

~

For every grain of sand the ocean shoreline comes to move,

to count them all a task so very long

Fill your hand with grains that come in time to you to prove,

their softness is a feeling ever strong

Endless possibilities now sprinkled in the wind,

dancing to the magic that we feel

Shiny little glistenings about the ground begin,

each and every footstep is so real

As we walk along our feet they know where we have been,

only do our hearts know where we go

Just to have these moments in our life now once again

and the knowledge that I love you so

Somewhere there’s a number written down in someone’s dreams,

noting every grain of sand we see

Staggering the digits as I hope the number means,

every day that you are here with me

~

You are so very skilled and put my unruly scribbles to shame. Your voice is very mellow and silky. It feels very familiar here in these words. I'm wandering in the warmth of Sunstreaked love ...warm hands, smiles, and memories. A push back into the light that I needed! Thank you!

Can you imagine the impossibility of counting every grain of sand in the world?

Well, how fortunate for us there are creative poets like you, whose imagination makes anything possible … especially, when it pertains to romance and love.
Which, by virtue of metaphoric imagery, heart-caressing emotion, spot-on rhymes, and smooth as silk rhythms, you rendered a virtual masterpiece of romantic fantasy to curl a lady's smitten toes.

Gorgeous title, presentation, and exemplary all around display of poetic skill any honest bard would envy.
Thank you, Will, for sharing this "ohhh-so different and improved" work, as compared to your first post, "Broken Moon" ⁓ Richard🖌

Texans gotta stick together. : )
The grains of sand overwhelm us, make us feel so limited. But their immeasurable quality can be compared to the vastness of love we sometimes feel. A very emotionally moving poem, dear Willweb. I wish you possibilities in love as endless as the grains of sand, always.

I truly appreciate the fresh concepts and thoughts you bring with every poem. You are most welcome.
Beautiful poetry. I saw two lovers walking hand in hand across the margins of a sunny bay. Lovely visuals. I could feel the sand in my toes.

Thank you so much Chris. Happy this one created a nice vision for your mind.
Footsteps say where we've been, the heart says where we'll go, endless choices, as grains of sand.
Another expanding-thought so well spelled out in words :)

Thanks JD. Sometimes I get carried away when love is involved.
What a wonderful thought and metaphor. Each poem of yours I read is better than the last. This one took me in many directions, just as the wind moves the sand. So true in a literal sense but metaphorically it made so much sense. I loved the line " As we walk along our feet they know where we have been, only do our hearts know where we go" And the last stanza was amazing. Well done my friend
