Embracing the sky

Embracing the sky

A Poem by willweb

~

Here I stand

in a lonely field

of winter rye

and dandelion

watching

faint ribbons

of apricot break

across a weary

horizon

And as I see

the enchanting

beauty of the

morning sun

embracing a

silent waking sky,

my heart wishes…

I were that sun

and she were

that sky

A powerful painted image that sweeps across the page with its beauty. Very nicely rendered Will.

Thank you so much.
This is a powerful creation, Willweb. It reminds me of the romantic but at the same time it feels modernized. It's quite an accomplishment. It has a Louise Gluck feel to it.
I am quite impressed.

WOhoooo.... for whatever reason, though the voice of your poem is the same as your usual, but it feels different for me, more opening, more spiritual, more accepting, more whole, one with everything... like someone revealing and opening his heart wide and high... and oh those last few lines... breathtaking.... Love, love this one! and Good FREEING evening my friend~

You are welcome Will.
Interesting how the mind can take an ordinary scene of nature and cast it as a symbol of something else. Here the speaker looks at the sun and sky and makes it represent a desired romantic situation. I wonder if the other person sees it similarly.

That's the thing, I wonder too if they see it the same way. Thanks John.
I like reading short poems like this—especially descriptive ones. Unique thanks.

a clever bit of role reversal. on a beautiful, clear day, seems like anything is possible - sky's the limit.
