O' waves of grayA Poem by willwebO'
waves of gray, soft subtle sheens, a
flow you drift this somber shore Of
ancient thoughts and humbled dreams and
moments found to but endure Come
take me there, your sorted mist, where
mermaids sing harmonic tunes Beneath
this stardust, diamond kissed. within
the beams of winter moons For
I alone do call thy name in
echoes cast a frigid breeze Before
the storm of sheltered shame to
put this aching mind at ease You
see, her heart I sought to win, attempts
amassed a thousand ways Lone
footprints scattered ever thin, a
serpentine of darkened days Alas,
my quest did not succeed she
left me for another's arm It
mattered not, my love did bleed, once
fallen to the suitor's charm So
here on hands and knees I crawl, an
empty vessel lost and turned, Who
once believed he had it all a
cost, the wicked lessons learned The
end I've found in front of me till
breaths escape this tortured soul To
sink the depths your fevered sea, as
life this day fails my control Till
sunlight finds her smile again and
she can drink the silent dawn These
memories of times we've been, shall
disappear, now I am gone © 2023 willwebReviews
