A Poem by willweb

I was never one for coloring

inside them

and boundaries…just something

to step over

sitting in my car at a fast-food restaurant

wondering why it is so slow

then counting 16 goods in the cart

before me

while reading a sign that states

15 items or less

And there are those that I write,

futile at best,

never straight, never short or long enough

just there, expecting something,

like a script to a play

that has been tossed in the bin,

what is there to be said now

as the mirror shows me that

they are there as well,

they are there as well,

maybe I am moving to the front

maybe I wish it were longer

Yep. Sounds like you and me and others too. But what the heck, when we're gone our words still live on if only in a cold lonely cellar, yet still alive. At least they aren't in line...like us.
