Tingle

Tingle

A Poem by willweb

Melodies ~ ringing on soft cool winds,

dangling from tiny strings in metallic forms

Swaying in harmony with your smile

reflecting the mid-day sun

in glimmering highlights of whipped cream whispers

on wings of stained glass dreams

For it was that day you kissed me,

for the very first time ~

(When buttercups blushed as I held them to your chin)

and my lips tingled, unending,

understanding this was more than just a touching of skin,

a melted meeting of two

~Music called to us from the branches above,

serenading our hearts in sweet blissful sounds

on soft grasses, fingers intertwined~

Your eyes, hypnotized me there, in that place

and you kissed me again…this one held

Passion breathing, love had found me

coiled about me and clung to me

On that day, unlike any other

I could imagine…I fell for you

Now as cool winds blow

and leaves cascade in multicolored waves

That wind chime, suspended from that old maple rings,

singing sweetly of that first kiss,

a musical remembrance of that day

of which no reminder is needed ~ for my lips they still tingle

Isn't is funny how little things can bring back vivid memories associated with them. "whipped cream whispers on wings of stained glass dreams" such a poetic and wistful expression, I loved it. The rhyme of chin and skin was unexpected and very pleasant (a difficult combination) bars for that. The whole poem was romantic and wistful at the same time. Very nice

This write is so full of romance and the passion of youth. There is music in life; from the sighing of pines in the wind to the gurgling whisper of running waters. The earth has her own songs. The birds sing, crickets chirp and the cicada keep the rhythm of life winding up and down like a kitchen timer that has reached its limit. And love songs are always favorites among the species. Lightning bugs don't even need sound to sing their song. But the message is understood and it's all about love. I enjoyed the read.

Music is everywhere and everything for sure. Thanks so very much my friend.
Music has that ability to instantly transport us right back to a certain memory as if we were right there - and this memory you have written is more than beautiful . I love these lines especially, ‘~Music called to us from the branches above, serenading our hearts in sweet blissful sounds on soft grasses, fingers intertwined’ it paints a gorgeous romantic scene. And Love the ending line too. Beautifully written.

Your welcome. It was a pleasure to read..

they do, don't they will .. one only has to cast one's mind back to .. well you know .. and they seem to tingle all over again .. lips n fingertips I believe from my own experience are most susceptible to such tingles .. I have even, on the very rare occasion, felt a most definite electric shock, just this side of the pleasure/pain divide .. a most beautifully crafted recount my friend .. Neville

Musical remembrances are everywhere Will, ready to assail our senses from nowhere. It could be the passing sound of someone's radio, whose tune gives your brain an itch, or it could be the sound of windchimes taking you back in a flash to the one, who may ot may not have worked out, but I'm guessing they didn't or you wouldn't be remembering someone that gave you tinnitus. 😊
Sometimes it is more subtle, with a snippet of a tune that turns into an earworm, until you finally remember what it was, when you are transported instantly back to the then and where.
Not to ruin your moment, but I'd slap on some carmex to those lips, just in case 😊

I'm beginning to think you have a lip fetish. It is an understandable undeniable disorder. I know a good counselor for that ... they can be found in the heart. Stained glass dreams is poetic gold! Then return later in the poem as multicolored leaves. Your Tingle resonates as a poetic note ~ an A sharp.

I like your abuse of punctuation in this. Very webbian and it works somehow.

Thanks so much Frederick.
They say, the first kiss, the first love is remembered always.
Your poem is so convincing of that feeling. The reader feels the passion, the wonder of that first kiss in your words.
