Alone she sits at twilight

to dream of shimmered lace

While staring at the moonlight

reflecting on her face

The winds of change are brewing

through evergreens they call

To question what she’s doing

believing in it all

Her heart begins to travel

with wishes sent a far

As boundaries unravel

to touch the farthest star

She floats on wishes sharing

so soft upon a wing

While in the dark she’s staring

to futures it may bring

She knows it’s disappearing

for night is soon to end

The daylight she is fearing

a morning comes to send

Until the dawn is breaking

her eyes they cast a glow

In endless moments waking

that only she can know

Thank you so very much.
A very nice story in the poetry. You allowed the reader to fall in the words and your thoughts.

In endless moments waking
that only she can know"
I liked the above lines. I do believe. The woman can save us or murder us. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

You are so welcome always!
She has known a lot of darkness and the moon has been a solace to her.
The dawn will be breaking soon, ending perhaps what was a long night and though it will bring light, it will also bring the winds of change in its wake.
She may be apprehensive now but given her courage, she'll find her feet in no time.
Remember, she has faced the twilight alone...
A strong portrayal there, dear Willweb.

Interesting psychological portrait here. The lady welcomes the night but fears the coming day. Something about those winds of change make her wary, and it gives me the impression she has control issues. The night is silent, the different images few. It's those stark, varying daylight images she can't handle. Maybe Xanax would help.

Yeah, maybe that would help. you never know. : )
Thanks so much John
I like how you comfortably write poems from the perspective of the woman...
not so easy to do that, but you pull it off so well.
"only she can know" but the poet understands.
