Inspired by the Led Zeppelin song "Thank you"

 

 

 

~And if the sun refused to shine~

Music finds my sleep and calls
from a bedside table, slits of light through the slatted blinds
create mini horizons on the wall
Time has caught up to me once again
as the song reminds me

~I would still be loving you~

For the morning throws me back to reality,
the longing in my heart which glowed

beneath last night’s moon has returned
to find this bed of only one figure,
reaching out for what could be

~When mountains crumble to the sea~

As shorelines beckon and love blooms
in my heart, I stumble,
bare feet on a cold floor,
eyes barely opened, humming
to the haunting rhythm
of a plastic clock radio

~There will still be you and me~

Lyrics are truth, and truth is a melody,
easily sung regardless of tempo or flow
Key changes finding a bridge
of quickened footsteps that take me to a new day,
wide awake, ready to begin, with you
and I look to the radio and whisper

Must admit, I have never understood, why people like Led Zeppelin's song. Personally, rather listen to Jimi Hendrix and his amazing wizardry, over the guitar. Of course, it helps that Robert Smith is, a huge fan of his music, too. Maybe next time, Will, we'll agree over music selection.

Well I have to declare my sympathy for this song. Not only that I think the words are also an indication to listen to the music of your "Heart". Feelings -- emotions, perceptions and to move accordingly or rhytmically. Where the words spoken mean something that brings about harmoniously. Where every note of intention becomes a tuneful declaration that indeed from you there will be acts of kindness acts of love and for that wondefull opportunity-- I fel indebted.

The serene tone of the writing got me. It brough me down from my usual "overcoming tension " if only so temporary but still very much appreciated.

i knew that line would throw you in that direction---not much of a zeppelin fan, i only have 8 of their albums which i have worn out on vinyl...:)))
favorite is led zep 4...but the best side for me is the side of led zep 3...with "tangerine", "that's the way" "hats off to roy harper" etc. great stuff...yes, your office has something there.

beautiful .. the lyrics and the way you have used them .. perfect .. and what is not to like from Led Zeppelin .. had to go and listen on YouTube ;) .. who has not looked to that plastic box of dreams and consolation to lend a sleeping hand .. that scene takes me a very long way back it seems .. my mattress on the floor .. a worn dresser with lots of empty space .. a wood box next to the bed with that fine Zenith Radio that still worked even in the 60's .. i had a fatigue jacket i threw to Jimmy Page in the throes of admiration once .. he picked it up and very nicely handed it back to me .. i will never forget it .. wonder what happened to that old jacket ;) ah well .. all things must pass eh!? beautifully crafted poem Will! gave me much joy in memories and reading!
