Inspired by the Led Zeppelin song "Thank you"

 

 

 

~And if the sun refused to shine~

Music finds my sleep and calls
from a bedside table, slits of light through the slatted blinds
create mini horizons on the wall
Time has caught up to me once again
as the song reminds me

~I would still be loving you~

For the morning throws me back to reality,
the longing in my heart which glowed

beneath last night’s moon has returned
to find this bed of only one figure,
reaching out for what could be

~When mountains crumble to the sea~

As shorelines beckon and love blooms
in my heart, I stumble,
bare feet on a cold floor,
eyes barely opened, humming
to the haunting rhythm
of a plastic clock radio

~There will still be you and me~

Lyrics are truth, and truth is a melody,
easily sung regardless of tempo or flow
Key changes finding a bridge
of quickened footsteps that take me to a new day,
wide awake, ready to begin, with you
and I look to the radio and whisper

I love Led Zeppelin, was lucky enough to see their first gig at the Marquee club in Wardour Street Soho London, it was amazing, 'Good Times, Bad Times' man......oops sorry Will i went back to my youth your poem does justice to the song as always with you a work of art, thank you and for the memory too :)

Wow Will - this is a delicate and beautiful homage to that someone who inspires you and who loves and supports you. It carries the sentiment of the song much further than the tune could have went like a booster rocket to the moon. Enthralling and yet fragile as a butterflies wings. Delicate as a harps tune. amazing!

Its such a great thing Will to have the synapses fired by others words and talents - but sometimes I get so enrapt in the lyrics that I almost virtually stop what Im doing when a great song like this comes on -
