Can this be love

Can this be love

A Poem by willweb

Can this be love?

Following a heart’s path

Ascending with each step

Longing her beauty

Traversing dangerous outcroppings

Jagged surfaces smoothed

Still climbing

Scaling the highs

Leaving the lows behind

Staring upward

Seeing her smile

Going for it

Navigating emotions

Dodging rock slides

Using every aching muscle

Escalating feelings

Pushing through

Knowing it is near

Reaching the apex

Claiming the summit

Standing atop the mountain

Feeling exhilarated

Full of life

Young again

Scanning the horizon

Dreaming the future

Breathing the air of affection

Realizing it is a narrow peak

Careful footing, steady

Holding on to her

Not looking down

For fear of falling

After everything done

To reach this point

Can this be love?

Thank you so much Ally for your kind words today. I appreciate you stopping by
If it isn't, Will, then I don't know, what love is. For love can be, many things, which we have overcome, in our growth, and relationship, with that special one, in our lives. Sadly, too many people think, it will just drop in their laps, like manna from heaven, without working on it. Thank you, Will, for sharing this poem, with us.

Love is when we are fearless and willing to dance on the edge. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

I just added to your amazing words and you are welcome.
It is love....how beautiful, I am most certainly blushing again; you carried through this journey of finely selected words, that I felt like a 25 years old, without reservation, you conquered any insecurity as you say navigating your emotions. Not looking down for fear of falling. This is lovely. Thank you. I'm smiling. Bravo. You have did it again.

Wow! This is just awesome Will!
I love how you've very carefully navigated your way through all the uncertainty to claim, win, conquer and hold onto your love! This has to be one of my faves. I think even my own heart was cheering along the way!

Yes, for sure! You've gotta believe!
going through this much to get to that point...as an old james gang song once said "got the feelin', must be love"
if you can look down from the top and not feel scared...then you should be where you are, and your feelings should be in the same place.

Thanks so much Jacob. Sometimes it is a tough climb, but well worth it when you reach the top.
I liked the staccato lines in this. It created a romantic urgency to your words. Hey, no one can be sure if it is love till they are in the middle of it. If it feels like it might be, time to take the plunge and see how it goes. If it is meant to be, the safety net will appear. Lydi**
