Can this be love?

Following a heart’s path

Ascending with each step

Longing her beauty

Traversing dangerous outcroppings

Jagged surfaces smoothed

Still climbing

Scaling the highs

Leaving the lows behind

Staring upward

Seeing her smile

Going for it

Navigating emotions

Dodging rock slides

Using every aching muscle

Escalating feelings

Pushing through

Knowing it is near

Reaching the apex

Claiming the summit

Standing atop the mountain

Feeling exhilarated

Full of life

Young again

Scanning the horizon

Dreaming the future

Breathing the air of affection

Realizing it is a narrow peak

Careful footing, steady

Holding on to her

Not looking down

For fear of falling

After everything done

To reach this point

Can this be love?

If it isn't, Will, then I don't know, what love is. For love can be, many things, which we have overcome, in our growth, and relationship, with that special one, in our lives. if you can look down from the top and not feel scared...then you should be where you are, and your feelings should be in the same place.
