Warmth

Warmth

A Poem by willweb

On this cold and blustery day,

where frozen whispers collect in the corners of your mind

and dreams travel well south of any border

As streams flow beneath a glistening surface

reflecting shivering tree lines,

chilled silhouettes of snowcapped forests

When the breezes, once a welcome springtime friend

become a formidable force,

slicing through the layers of woven smiles you wear

And temperatures have you wishing for sunflowers

in green sun lit meadows with gingham cloth

and a picnic set for two

Know that I, breathing only of the fire

kindled in my heart, raging of an undying affection

shall always provide the warmth you desire…

Will, I need to warm up, first, before my brain can function, in this extreme cold weather. As I have lost all sense of touch, to my poetic soul. A nice blazing fire, would be, just right, on such a winter day, like this. A mug of warm apple cider, will be nice, as hot chocolate is, toxic to my body. Thanks, Will, for the warm wishes, on this frigid day.

It's only -24 C with the wind chill, today, Will. A lot warmer than yesterday's -31 C wind chill.
i want to curl up with this poem...on a below zero day, it's a comfort to read.

Thanks so very much Jacob. Here's hoping you stay warm my friend.
This sounds like the perfect poem to warm a cold day.
Your words are beautiful Will. You're becoming quite the romantic.
Well, on and off. Still need to get past those 'weeds' ;)
Beautiful poem.
