Where were you

Where were you

A Poem by willweb

Where were you
when life was just a four letter word
which I had a hard time spelling
with a quickly fading pen
on scattered note pads
from some auto parts store
I don't even use

Where were you
when the moon was just a ball in the sky
glaring down on my weeping eyes
as I tried to sleep
beneath lonely covers
with reruns of Star Trek
controlling my dreams

Where were you
when alarm clocks were annoying
and needed to start
another day of washing machine rhythms
set on spin cycle boredom
and all colors bled through
staining my frown

Never mind, I don't really want to know
you are here now
in my arms
and that is all that matters

Please don't ever go back there again

It doesn't matter what came before. You are here now. Great message. Ps rhythm is mispelled.

Yep. You are welcome...:)......
Going through the darkness and into the light.....finding the one who makes all the difference. A fairy tale ending for sure. The imagery in this one is spectacular, Will. "another day of washing machine rhtyms
set on spin cycle boredom" now there is a great way to describe ennui! You do have a typo in the word "rhythm" though....I know you will change it! :) A very good write, Will. Lydi**

Glad to know it :)
Love your happy ending and positive attitude.
Doesn't matter she was, what matters is what comes next now that she's in your arms. :)
Good poem!
