The first hint

The first hint

A Poem by willweb

I walked out to my gate

and was shocked to find

the clasp unfastened

It swung freely on its hinges

as if it had not a care

to whom might enter or leave

I looked out towards the horizon

across the wintered over field,

a stark white silent landscape

I saw nothing but barren trees with

twisted branches creaking,

silhouettes reaching on an opaque sky

I felt scared and nervous…

what would happen now that the entryway

to my heart had been left open

Then I felt a hand on my shoulder,

and looking to my right, there you were,

smiling a sunrise on my face

So I pulled the gate closed,

secured it tightly as I felt the first

hint of spring in your kiss

Spring … well you certainly brought the blossoms in December. A wonderfully romantic write with enticing light.

Thank you so very much Pryde. I am happy to see your smile on my page again.
I was suprised to find that I actually really do feel like this sometimes and as soon as you found that door open I went" Oh no what have you done! DearLord " " What my come in now?" obviously my fears and yours differ so when the image of her coming in served to me a a relief. If it woudn't have been in my leterary world I Darkness would have walked all over me with pleasure but the sunrise in your face as a form of awakening and light. Reassuring to say the least. Good job though you shut that door quickly!

Pheww that to me a close call.

Thankyou

that's way too lovely for me - show me the raw, gritty reality of life anyday - that's where the lessons are .... yeah I know - apologies - my brain don't work like most ... xxx

you are right of course it's not ... :) xx
That's rather sweet. A kiss should always taste of spring. When it begins to taste like winter, things are over...

When you meet the right "one" it is suddenly springtime....the world blossoms and the colors burst forth. How romantic this is, Will. Lovely. Lydi**

Thank you so very much Lydi. It sure seems that way.
Very nice. The best line, in my opinion, is

"smiling a sunrise on my face"

I love wordings that are a little off from proper grammar like that. Also, the idea of using "smiling" as a verb that takes an object is very creative and beautiful. Great work! Love the opaque sky imagery, too! Thank you so much for sharing, my friend! God bless you!
