Little Bird

 

I saw a little bird the other day

It flew headfirst into a brick wall

and died alone on the sidewalk below

I laughed at first until I realized

that little bird was me

Poor birdie. Yes … but sometimes that little bird shakes it off and flies again … a little lopsided, but hey ... flying is flying.

Wow. I clicked on this one before it was ready. This one is quite dark indeed, but really well done for so few words it packs a gut punch.

Ouch ... then double ouch ...

Fly free little bird ... you must soar high into the clouds to reach beyond those damn brick walls

I like this and then I don't and then I like it all over again

The title got me ... I didn't like the little bird dying

Then I realised i am always running into walls of some description

I think the reason I am the first to review this is because this is so truthful it might scare people, but I love this piece and the wording should never be changed :)
