Little Bird

Little Bird

A Poem by willweb

Little Bird

I saw a little bird the other day

It flew headfirst into a brick wall

and died alone on the sidewalk below

I laughed at first until I realized

that little bird was me

Woah, what a twist... You won't be that little bird, I won't let you, Will. Sad one my friend.

This reminds me of that song by the bee gees "I started a Joke", and isn't that how it is when you realize you are walking in someone else's shoes, then you know how it feels and it's just not funny anymore.

Thanks so much Eve. Yes, it does seem that way.
It wasn't very nice to laugh about a poor little bird dying.
I thought you were more sensitive than that. :)
It's a good little poem Will. Life does throw a brick wall for us to crash into from time to time.
And it suck when it happens.

Short and great. I'm laughing. That's inspiring. Maybe I need to try and write a shorter poem. It had a great impact and that's so important. Thank you.

Thanks so much June. It is very kind of you to offer these words today. But really, I am fine.
Hey Will i do this all the time, beat my head against a brick wall (not literally of course) but these damn walls are everywhere, we have hopes and dreams and sometime they hit that wall and die on the ground like your little bird, your poem though will soar because its so beautiful bravo :)

Thanks Yuki. Yes, it is sad but sometimes it feels that way.
Here lies a truth we see every day that so many struggle to conceive. People drive themselves into their own fate and tend to realize that only once it's too late. Such an intelligent poem, cut straight to the core of my writing inspiration. Great write my friend!
