If only

If only

A Poem by willweb

If only I had told you of

the thoughts that filled my mind,

the plans we would have made,

the maps we would have drawn,

the places we would have visited,

the paths we would have walked,

the sunsets we would have seen,

the fun we would have experienced,

the times we would have celebrated,

the songs we would have danced to,

the poetry we would have written,

the life we would have lived,

the affection we would have shared

If only -

I had said more than just,

I love you

I agree with Ana, maybe it's not too late... In fact, sometimes, it's never too late. Try, all you can do is try. I loved this one because I can relate.

Thank you so very much Noodlebumble for this wonderful review.
Maybe it's not too late to make it all up to her Will. Tell her all these things.
This is beautiful and heart breaking.

Sometimes just I Love you's are not enough. A relationship requires trust...caring...and love!
If someone makes you feel special, that's love. If someone is always there to tell you that you are beautiful, that's love. If someone never breaks your trust, thats love.
Love is mistaken just as 3 words. Its much more.
Ahaha let's leave this. You did a great job writing this :)

Thanks so much and you are correct in everything you say.
i love you's are never quite enough...those words might seem shallow and meaningless without the other words ...maybe we say it too casually anymore...

if only...i remember someone...i should have said more, myself.

Words not spoken haunt us more than the words spoken. I like the flow of thoughts leading to the very good ending. Thank you for the excellent poetry.

Thank you so very much Coyote for your nice words.
just loving someone is never enough.. it is what you do.. how you make them feel.. anything worthwhile in this life takes dedication and hard work.. on the same token, if they knew you loved them and didn't communicate needs, desires----did they really feel the same for you?.. if you truly love something, you will fight heaven and earth for it.. lovely what would have been's in this piece.. moving and bittersweet.. awesome writing as usual.. your writing always touches me..
