If tears were poetry

If tears were poetry

A Poem by willweb

If tears were poetry,

my words would flow

in a constant stream

onto the dampened paper,

running together in a blur

of forever promises

and hopes for futures

But alas they are merely

salt stained lines

in sorrowed cursive fonts,

drenched in phrased sadness,

falling from my eyes,

flooding the cracks

of my broken heart

If tears were poetry~

I would be a poet

It is well articulated written...Well balanced. Indeed, if tears were poetry you'd be a poet.

Thank you so very much Brianna.
I loved it and isn't it ironic that you are a poet writing about being a poet..silly me. I like the flow and imagery; all that sadness comes flooding through like the tears. Thank you.

Please do. I haven't thought about being happy/sad/mad but that's great advise.
This is a beautiful piece, with a great flow. :)

Thank you so much Micky. I am happy you enjoyed this one.
Sometimes, at whatever level we function at as poets, we take the gift to articulate our thoughts and emotions, too lightly. This poem is affirmation of how fortunate the poet is to be able to express such feelings.

These are beautifully articulated lines.

This made my heart ache...you are a Poet...tears or no tears...you write the reflection in those tears as they poise inside for release :) xo

Thank you Poppy, so very much. I appreciate you leaving such nice words here for me today.
This is beautiful. You use language very skillfully and it gives the poem a timeless feel to it. We pour our emotions into words as they rain down upon the page and in doing so poets we become. This is a wonderfully crafted poem.

Thank you so much Icelandicblue. Coming from a poet I so admire, your comments have made my day.
clever and well executed metaphor... not only does this make you think, it makes you feel.. you skillfully weave the comparisons with emotion sprinkled throughout. the last line is the one that delivers the perfectly aimed punch at the end.. it hits ya pretty powerful.. this piece highlights just how much of an amazing poet you are.. those emotions drip on to the page like salty little stabs.. we cry, laugh, pound, and bleed our hearts onto the page.. each one having its own stain.. awesome job my friend. I thoroughly enjoyed..
