Another dream

Another dream

A Poem by willweb

My strength seeps from the cracks,

crevices ripped in a single slip

Reaching for hope again

I left my chest wide open

Streams of worth

flow like crying children

stealing quarters from the collection plate

at Sunday school - knowing it is a sin

Staining my crisp white shirt,

collecting in the wrinkles

of this button down nightmare,

pooling at my motionless feet

Exhaustion cradles and I can’t move,

losing a step at each turn

Internal screaming becomes deafening

as the pain sings harmony off key

I see my face in the stainless steel

but can not reach my wrists

It falls, mingling with debris,

scattered amidst this love I’ve lost

I am weak, I know weak,

I have taken this test before

Lessons on blackboards never sink in,

report cards inked in letters far up the scale

There is no more running, only hiding from myself

Sleeping in the darkness of my fears knowing

they will only bring another dream,

that I will once again follow

This is more you will when you spill emotion like blood upon virgin pages in desperate emotional tones. Love the second stanza.

Thanks so much John. Glad you liked this one. Blood upon virgin pages...like that alot too.
Your emotions are on the page Will, flowing freely to your readers and I, as a reader, can feel it - amazing as ever, what a poem my friend.

Thanks so very much my friend. I am thrilled you liked this one.
Another vision
Intertwined
With a tainted sense
Of nothingness.

Having been here
Once too many times
Facing this problem
Which never goes away
From me.

Wondering
Do I surrender
And admit
The shortcomings
Before you?

Hoping
This time
Everything will be
Different
Between us.

To reach
That impossible space
You say
I have locked you
On the outside.

Maybe
But scared
To do so.

Knowing
What face me
Shall this occur
Once more.

they will only bring another dream that I once again will follow. Hopelessly hopeful. There are those who never give up - and that is actually a very good thing. It is when we stop - that is the real sadness.
Found an odd sort of lift in this write.

Thanks so much Tammy. I know, I kind of felt it too as I wrote it. Such is the heart of a dreamer.
Dolor seems to exhale an eruptionin this piece. It gives you chills. All the raw emotions are transparent. Every scar seen. Well done!

The sadness and sorrow is brimming over in this piece...

"I see my face in the stainless steel
but can not reach my wrists
It falls, mingling with debris,
scattered amidst this love I’ve lost" - I found this stanza very poignant, its like the person is so devastated they no longer have a self that they can destroy.

It does feel like that at times. Thank you so much Frontier.
feels like you have found a love but you can't quite reach her, something unseen is stepping in the way all the time until you realize this is a dream but its one you will always follow, great writing Will, its very dramatic and soulful too, wonderful :)

Thanks so much Richard. Someone once said dreams can come true, that someone was wrong.
