InescapableA Poem by willweb
Why do I allow myself to do this,
day after day, wishing and waiting,
pacing in a confined space,
tripping on the surface of what I want,
falling head first into what I can not have
Scraped knees and elbows
locked at the joints,
bound by corrosion,
hidden beneath denim overlays,
heavy duty to conceal
bolted thoughts
chained to the wall
by my desires
These iron bars of your memory
surround me at all times an inescapable cage around my heart -
and I can not find the key
nor do I want to
but why
