Yesterday and Today

Yesterday and Today

A Poem by willweb

Almost midnight,

that thin fragile line

when moments change

and calendar pages flip

watching as hands slowly meet,

becoming one hidden behind another

pointing towards the heavens

It is in that split second

between the then and now,

the was and will be,

that I miss you the most -

yesterday and today - simultaneously

God help me tomorrow

WOW...I am drowning in the depth of emotion in this one! The clock strikes twelve...another day goes by and it's the beginning of another one without the person you want to be with...the one you will always miss and the one that got away. How will you go on? One foot in front of the other...and soon when the two hands point to the heavens all you will do is smile. An emotional masterpiece. Lydi**

Jacob, from a poet I so admire, your words have thrilled me today. Thank you so much.
Brilliantly expressed. My favourite lines would be:
"between the then and now,

the was and will be,

that I miss you the most -

yesterday and today - simultaneously"

Happy those lines spoke to you Cryingkate. Thank you so very much for these nice words today.
We can't control time or what happens daily.
Time keeps passing and you can't manufacture it.
Nice work on this one.
