MatchlessA Poem by willwebYou asked
if I had a light, I struck a
match (my last) Watched as it
sparked, began to
glow then ignited
in flame Yellow and
white with a hint
of blue
Lit your
cigarette and those
of your two friends Then stared
as it slowly burned down the
cardboard shaft until I
could feel its heat on my
finger tips Still I
gazed at the beauty
of the
flame till I
could stand it no
more, shook it
and the flame was gone and so were
you Nothing remained
but a thin swirling
line of smoke lazily ascending
to the sky Three on a
match is supposed
to be bad luck - so what
else is new © 2014 willwebReviews
