Monochrome opposite

Monochrome opposite

A Poem by willweb

What seems black and white,
common as -
piano keys beneath nimble fingers,
candle shadows dancing on an
opaque drawn blind,
blurred highway lines dotted
on fresh asphalt -

is really the reflection of my racing pulse
upon pearl painted skies
every time you walk by -
in living color

"Will, it pains me to say,
I gain from your display,
The same as yesterday.
It's a shame to relay."

I've read a few of your poems now, including the one currently leading the competition. There's an obvious thematic pattern : loss, depression, unobtainable love. The dichotomy of your obvious talent versus your inner demons in a battle of expression is intriguing, but overplayed. As with most of the material posted on this site, you prefer prose over poetry and who can blame you? Why place rules on art? My issue is this: people who feel sad and write sad things will be acknowledged and upvoted by sad people who write sad things with less talent.

I see how you affect your followers, and noteworthy though the piece may be, it adds to the cycle of shared feelings of depression, the black hole of which I feel this site being gradually pulled toward. I would love to see someone with your talent uplift and inspire people. Add to the game and be forgotten, change the game and be immortalized.

I look forward to seeing what you become, Will.

Sometimes we rather deal with light and darkness at least for me it makes it easier to appreciate colour when we drive them world of opposties. And the wolrd of sound which is the world I can reletae the most blac and white are replaced evr so slightly by the word silence and sound? No I am afraid . And Willy has in this writing and very enigmatic and therefore extremely appealing bowed to this engma which when I am not bounded by mediocrity and the mundane consumes my time. The piano is knows as the devil box. I know strange isn't it is becuase the chrome or colours if you wish is presented in full, the candle light is not even there although we perceive it to be, even the most concrete of offerings in this writings are but impressions concucted by our mid. However how beautyfull it is when love warms the abscence of it and transforms eithr state out of a loving desire?

An enigma so worth loving

Thankyou

This poem makes me feel like the speaker feels inadequate up against his love -- it is sad really, but truthful just the same.

Loved the contrast between these two stanzas … really helped the second hit home.

PS … a bit of a typo in the first line above.
