Mean Seas

 

 

You are the mean seas

which rock my vessel

from side to side

tossing my heart overboard

conspiring with the circling sharks

 

Tormenting me with a life preserver,

two arches formed of painted smiles

and suggested feelings

Waving it amongst laughter

and first mate chuckles

 

My sails lack wind,

my course altered from its design

Taking on water

drowning, slowly drowning

in the meanest of seas

 

Bobbing amidst the waves,

raging above and below

where your anchor sits in wait of me,

in wait of my submersion,

in wait of my final breath

 

What was once my love,

this sea, endless beauty, aquatic charm

serenity within my arms

is now my end -

 

How could you be so mean?

Well it's a well structured poem. :-(
The seas are mean sometimes, we know not why.
But we learn to approach them either when they're calm, or with a surf board, for one helluva ride.
